Day 699 - Steely Dan - Peg

For those who don't know, I am listing my 10,000 favorite songs in this blog. This will take just under 30 years from start to completion. This blog can be found at Blogger, Livejournal for your convenience.

DAY 699
Steely Dan - Peg
From "Aja"
Year: 1977

Fantastic song from a fantastic album. Steely Dan is one of my 'musical therapy' groups, and this is one of their bigger hits, reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Walter Becker and Donald Fagen have reputations for being perfectionists in the studio. Seven session guitarists attempted to record the solo for this song before Jay Graydon recorded one they were happy with. Jay worked on the song for roughly six hours before Walter and Donald were satisfied with the results.
