DC Talk - Between You and Me

Jeff Dunham is coming to Spokane on February 8th, but the show is already sold out. The subject of his new DVDs came up today, and I decided to break out my early 90's vhs recording of Jeff's appearance on MTV's 1/2 hour comedy hour to show to a friend of ours. Thankfully, I was able to find the clip fairly quickly, because it was on one of my well organized "video inventory" tapes.

I have the contents of each those tapes written out in a notebook, and I noticed that it was surrounded primarily by some old school hip hop videos. One of the videos that was listed was an old DC Talk video called "I Love Rap Music". I don't care for that track, and we didn't watch it, but our friend Rick was familiar with it. That made me wonder if he had ever heard this song, and he hadn't.

I'm not a fan of the bulk of Christian Rock that I've heard, but I tend to think these guys got it right with this song. Great chord progressions, a sweet arrangement, and (perhaps most importantly) a good bulk of the lyrics would still hold up well outside of the religious intent if someone doesn't happen to agree with where they're coming from.
